Hmm, I have two snails, a malaysian something or another (the petstore is worthless for information) and a gold mystery. My gold mystery is all norm but the other one...he's "digging" these little dips in the gravel...I'm not sure what to do about it or really why he's doing it? He's all happy and such crawling around and I feed him regularly. He's very socialable and completely not shy, but today he was laying in one of his little dips. He was there all day and now that I think about it, last night too. I know he's alive because I saw his tentacles coming out to see what's up.

Anyone have a hint of what he might be doing? :p It's kinda funny...

malaysian trumpet snails sounds like.

They dig under subtrate normally, best kept in sand tanks.

They will make sure you subtrate does not compact and trap harmful chemichals. They are very useful in planted tanks, howeever alot of people do not like them because they are considered pest snails. they reproduce like guppies on speed.

i would not be worried about the snail, but be careful because you may end up with alot of other MTS too ( malaysian trumpet snails)

some people use them as food for puffers too ;)
