Smelly water?

Ok some of you may know but i've bought a second 120ltr tank (matches the other one )

now i have set this tank up the same way.

cleaned all the gravel
put gravel in the tank.
added some gravel from my other tank
added water (treated to get rid of chlorine etc)
added 20ltrs of water from established tank
added filter media from established tank.
added some decor from established tank.

I have left it on for a full 24 hours so far but the water really smells.

I remember my last tank did this and took a week or so for the smell to go away.

does anyone know what is causing this? it's hard to describe the smell, but it doesn't smell like my other 2 tanks.

I can'y say why its happening,

I had a pong a while back, I have an internal filter and I added a carbon insert for a week or 2 - this definately helped.

yeah it's strange

the gravel didnt smell
the water didn't smell
the tank didn't smell

but after 24hour it all stinks. anyway maybe the filter will do it's thing?
