Hi,

I want a Plec to go into my 27.5 UK gallon tank for the sole reason of keeping the tank clean by eating the algae. What are my options (if any) bearing in mind my relatively small tank?

Thanks in advance

Otos (otocinclus sp.) are the smallest plec and a small group of them can do wonders against algae.

You might also consider apair of bristlenoses, (ancistrus sp.) they get a fair bit bigger than otos, but most species stay quite small and they're demons against algae too.

I'd second that... a Bristlenose - or even a pair would be fine in your tank... they are excellent algae munchers... because of this they are also 'poop' machines!...

...from personal experience, you'd 'see' the BN more than Ottos... I have an Otto with my DP - hardly see him...
