On my 30 gallon freshwater tank, there are tiny white specks that seem to be growing on the sides of my tank? does anyone have any idea what these are.

i have been scraping them off with a sponge, but then it makes my water cloudy and they just keep on coming back. how do I solve this problem? or is this normal?

Sounds like egging of some sort.... My 55 that I use for breeding has a lot of snails in it and when there aren't fry currently in it I get the same thing which took me a while to figure it out. I'm pretty sure they're just small baby snails. I have a few larger ones that will pop out of the filter once in a while so I figure there are eggs blowing out of the filter. I wouldn't get too worried.....atleast I don't unless something decides to attach to my fish :fun: and it hasn't happened yet.

how could i have snail eggs in the tank when I don't have any snails in there? is there any thing else these can be? the only fish i have are two crayfish.

Hmmmm....well, sometimes you get snails eggs in plants and they lay eggs for doo-dah! I'm fighting them now. Do your crawfish lay eggs? Other then that, I don't know of an algae or anything that is white...
