I was looking in my 4 footer today and noticed white spots over the wood and on one of my bits of rock.

Not like mould, almost like eggs or something similar.

Very white, smooth looking.

Any ideas?

I guess it could be mould but on the rock as well?

Would take pictures but difficult to get with my camera.

Hi, do you have any Nerite snails in your tank?
Because the first possibility that occurs would be their eggs.
Unfortunately, they won't hatch out in freshwater...

Of course, I'm speaking as one who can't type a coherent sentence without going back to edit...

I have nerites and a few other types, I have a lot of white blobs covered in Jelly like substance too which are snail eggs too Im guessing.

Yeah, I get the same from my nerite - shame they never hatch in fresh water, as they can make a bit of a mess and are really hard to get rid of!

my dwarf plec eats at least some of them off his driftwood - but he doesn't do windows...

You'd undoubtedly be guessing absolutely right.
