Will these guys fit in a 75 gal tropical freshwater tank, if so how many?

hi,
those are also known as 7 spotted archer fish. they get about 18 inches, so no, they would not. on the other hand, 5 bar archers only get about 8" and you could keep maybe 3 (they need company, but lots of space) and a few others, like a pleco. i have had good luck with keeping archerfish freshwater with a high pH (7.4-8.2)
GOOD LUCK :hyper:

actualy, the 75 gallon community you have would be ok for 2 archers...

The small-scale archerfish is Toxotes microlepis, a freshwater/low-end brackish species that reaches a maximum size of about 15 cm in the wild. Under aquarium conditions 12-15 cm is more likely. Do make sure you have the right species; Toxotes microlepis and Toxotes jaculatrix are very similar in appearance and frequently confused.

Like all archers they are gregarious but hierarchical. I'd keep at least five specimens in a 75 gallon system to minimise the chances of bullying, and certainly wouldn't keep just two or three. Singletons do well but tend to be shy.

Do bear in mind Toxotes spp. are highly predatory. They have HUGE mouths and will swallow anything they can.

Cheers, Neale
