Im looking for some new cories for my tank and i want to get the smallest type available which stay at the bottom

i have heard corydora pygmaeus and corydora hastatus are actually mid tank dwellers which isnt what i am looking for

EDIT: i am also not looking for expensive strains

my pygmaeus are bottom swimmers but as with all corys they do occasionally swim around the mid lvels of the tank - all corys do this - well all of the corys i keep do
i also have habrosus which are a pygmy varietyand these also stay on the bottom but occasionally swim in the middle and top levels of the tank

maybe julii or nanus are not pygmy varieties

I have some habrosus and they stay on the bottom the majority of the time, and max out at around 1 inch. All corys will make the odd dash up the glass or midwater swim, but the habrosus I have stay on the bottom more than the paleatus do. They are very active fish and they will poke around the gravel a lot. They're also the most attractive of the true pygmies IMO.

I had read that pygmaeus and hastatus prefer mid water

no they will all have a swim around the tank especially if there aren't any real predators of territorial fish but they will be on the bottom the majority of the time

Here are some C. pandas and C. pygmaeus. From what I've seen, this is typical of them.
