I introduced a pair of kribensis to my tank about a week ago...the female is doing fine, her colours really strong and she's eating well. However, the male has gone really sluggish a couple of days after introduction, sitting on the bottom in a quite part of the tank, not feeding or doing anything! I have 3 platies and 3 cory and a dwarf gourami in with these which are all peaceful and leave each other alone! I'm not sure what is wrong, I maintain good water quality, changing about 30% each week which seems more than enough! The only thing I can think of is the ph which is always high at around 7.6. Any help would be useful, thanks!

Just probably bad krib. Try Adult Brine Shrimp( frozen food), i have never ever seena krib decline it, unless they are real sick. If that dosent work, take him back. Did you aclimate? Are you cycled?

They do fine in a high pH, mine bred in it very well.It might just be stress, have you got caves/hiding places for them?
If its been a a couple of days after introduction to the tank I doubt its anything wrong with the acclimatisation, especially since the female is fine. When selling some of my adult males (Grew them on) 2 died from locking there mouth, and basically suffocating themselves, this happens when they are badly stressed. Can you see any signs of disease?

Yeah I aclimatised them, tanks well established over 2 years now...can't see any signs of disease as such, just sitting on the bottom and breathing quickly in a quite little hollow...I have provided plenty of caves and the tank is heavily planted anyway. Not sure how to go about treating him because the female is doing just fine.
