Clean water and quarantine new fish help prevent dropsy and other diseases. You mentioned you do a weekly water change plus a large wc every month but your ammonia is still 0.1 which is puzzling. It should be zero as your tank should be cycled by now.
Do you clean your substrate when you do water changes? I wouldn’t, as that would kill the beneficial bacteria.

If you mean cleaning the substrate is using the siphon, yes I clean it. I never wash out the entire tank. It’s all puzzling to me. Pineapple is fine. He has plants in his tank. He’s my only fish; no tank mates. I have noticed that the plants aren’t doing well. They are getting mottled brown and I remove the leaves. Like I said, the whole episode didn’t make sense.
