I got some live rock for my tank the other day and last night when the light had gone out I noticed there was couple of hitchhickers. Two slugs they are both the same there skin is semi translucent and it look like there is a shell underneath there skin with two dark brown lines on it . They seem to be doing a good job of hoovering over the live rock. Is that a good thing or bad .
I have only just finished my cycle will that harm them . On that subject my ammonia and nitrites are both been reading zero , Have been for a 3 or 4 days a little longer on the ammonia so I tested the nitrates ( only just got the test kit ) and there only comming back at 10ppm I was expecting higher as what I,ve read says that your nitrates will peak after the cycle ( I was expecting 30/40 plus). So will they carry on climbing at a fast rate or when I start my weekly water change keep them low. I used RO water, A 10 kg bag of live sand and there is about 12 kg of live rock in the tank (175ltrs) at 27 degrees to get them bugs growing
Does that sound about right tanks been going 3 weeks
