mollie
angel
plec
convicts

they all are fine together. but the convicts are worrying me slightly theyre not attacking anything else or anything like that they're sort of bloated and hiding around one rock at the other end of the tank to they're "cave" . they've been in they're for around a week and been great so far just got me worried or is this normal

Not meant to keep convicts with community fish due to there aggression.

How many gallons is the tank.
What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Are scales sticking out.
What do you feed the fish?

tank is 2ft
im sure its 54 litres so about 11 gallons
ammonia nitrate and nitrite 0 ph is 7.8
no scales sticking out
aquarian flakes
i didnt realise what they were until i got them home they were a bit of an impulse buy

I would take them back to the lfs as no way should they be in that tank size or even be with community fish.
What your tap nitrate reading and do you have live plants.

How many of each fish do you have, as your tanks overstocked.
Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down and pop out of shell, mush into small peices and add to the tank.
What does it look like when they go to the toilet.
The fish need a balanced diet of frozen foods and veg.
Research the fish diet needs.

Research the fish before you buy, and try to resist on inpulse buying as it the worse thing you can do.

lfs wont take them back. i have cut plants.
tap nitrate reading unknown i used my last test strip earlier on. but i got an api master kit on its way.

i got one angel
one danio
one mollie
3 cardinal tetras
a common plec
5 unknown tetras?
2 convicts

i was given the tank by my sister last week. to make it clear all i have added is the convicts

Stick to liquid test kits as test strip cards are a waste of money because there not accurate.

The only fish that should be in that size tank are.
Unknown tetra which are glow light tetra.
Cardinals.
mollie

The danio needs to be in a shoal and they really need to be in 15 gallon tanks.
The plec to big for the tank.
Angels need 20 gallon tanks.
Convicts 30 gallons or above.

Have you noticed the convicts going to the toilet if so what does it look like.
Can they maintain there balance in the water.
Try the peas.

slight i only noticed it this evening female is more bloated than male but neither is very bloated

I would just try the peas then.
I would also ring the lfs to see if they would take the convicts back.
You need to find a home for the angel aswell as the tanks way to small for an angel.
