Wasn't sure what to call this, I've done a couple of searches and I couldn't find anything similar but I know there must be something about!

What I want to do is basically build up a couple of levels towards the back of my new tank that I can fill with gravel and put plants in. My tank is quite tall so I thought this would be a good idea to utilise the space. Im sure I've seen people using glass or perspex to do this but I figured slate would work just as well as long as the gaps are filled in.

Im going to use aquarium safe silicon to glue the slate together and hopefully build it up with other bits of slate around it to make it look natural.

Does anyone have any experience with this or have any links to something similar? Like I said I can't find anything and I would like to research it a bit before I start! :good:

ive got a slate wall/pile along the back of my cichlid tank. dont think its the same as what your talking about though (don't have any plants and can't see where i could put them).

Pictures will be in my cichlid journal in my signature if it will be any use (doubt it)

I didn't use any silicon ont the slate and its all loose/stacked.
