Hey...

A few days ago a got a group of 5 skunk loaches which i have to say are just amazing little guys...Fast and active and are doing very good in a fairly aggressive tank. They are actually starting do alot of their own pestering which i like. Now i bought some snails the other day as i've read that they are great snailers. I bought three snails but was wondering how/if i have to acclimate the snails? I just dropped them in there and my skunks got one of them but left the other two alone...and have left them alone for the last two days. The snails haven't moved much (if any) but i guess their snails and dont move much  ?

Q's
1) How do you acclimate a snail?

2) Will the loaches only eat live snails or would they eat one which is recently deceased and is it healthy for them to?

Thanks

Occasionally I will bring home a bag of 25 - 30 snails from Petsmart for my skunk loaches. I never really acclimated them, I would just drop 4 - 5 in at a time. The rest I would keep in a bowl, doing daily water changes.

They snails would be eaten by the next morning. The bigger snails would be sucked right out of the shell. I never found an un-eaten snail in their tank, so I assume they would eat the dead ones, depending on how fresh they were. Personally, I'd remove the dead ones. You don't want them rotting in your tank.

Have you heard them click, dr? Mine are very loud!

No i havent heard them do that yet....To tell ya the truth i didnt even know they did that. Thanks for the help comet!
