I have 4 skunk coyr cats. The 2 I got months ago have gotten dark. The new ones are still a nice white.

The substrate in the tank is black and I think that have caused them to take on a darker over all color.

Anyone have this happen to them? I will get some photo soon.

Not a good photo but you can see the difference in the shade from the older one to the new one.

Store fish are moved around quite a bit and aren't usually on as good of a diet as home kept fish. When a fish is moved to a new environment or being moved around and stressed in general, the fish will be more pale than it truly should be. After getting comfortable the colors will come out a bit more, then after a bit of time on a great diet the colors can deepen, spread, and even appear due to better nutrients. This is my opinion due to my own experiences. :fish:

It could be the better home and dark substrate that has made them develop such darker colours, either way I think both the pale and the dark Skunks look great :good: .
