Skimmers

Hi, just a quick question really, as you may know i am going to be setting up a 180gal and a 62gal tank, both marine. Anyway, the 62 will be the first project up an running and will house seahorses and Mandarins. However I was plannin on usin my old skimmer which is a big tower type thing that goes inside the water but fastens to the side. I just went to attach it and realised the tank, and the 180gal both have glass fittings on the inside right the way round which effectivley makes this skimmer useless. Anyone know any good skimmers that this wont matter with as most ive seen seem to sit on the side, or am I just gonna have to try an get rid of this glass on one side?

I know what you are talking about with regard to the glass support struts around the edge of the tank, but actually seeing the skimmer/problem would help people suggest a solution.
