skimmer top up

Hi all
I am setting up a marine nano and a thought just occured. A skimmer removes fluid should that be replaced with ro or?
Fitting an auto top up and I wasnt sure that ro would keep the salinity correct

A part of the water the skimmer removes is close to the tank salinity, but evaporation leaves salinity behind.

If you're working on a system that will have low water changes. At some point you'll need to add salt water to compensate, It is very minimal compared to evaporation but still a factor that will influence salinity in the long term.

Topping regularly with pure RO is perfect to prevent salinity shifting and periodic monitoring of salinity will insure nothing goes off.
