Skimmer Less For 12/24Hrs?

ok i have enough water in my Rio400 salted and up to temp to move my Live Rock over from the tank upstairs.

However i only have one skimmer which is on the tank upstairs and at the minute the water level is not high enough in the R400 for the skimmer to run on it, its a Deltec MCE600.

I was thinking of moving either most or half LR over tonight rest tomorrow or sat, and leaving mushroom rocks/zoas in the tank upstairs until the sand is in the upgrade tank. this would mean the tank upstairs running with minimal LR and stock until fri evening poss sat morn as i work 10-6am tonight and then 6pm-midnight tomorrow.

it would mean the tank upstairs running 12-24hrs without major filtration

id have said you would be fine to leave you corals and a bit of live rock in a t ankw ithout a skimmer for a day or two. Make sure there is some flow and a heater. Id not leave the fish in there too if there is minimal LR. If you are worried why not mix up a water change ready.

Thanks for that, decided yesterday 630am to do the tank move, 3hrs later everything moved over and doing well. Not running skimmer on tank as had to go bed I was dead on my feet.

Will put skimmer on tomorrow.
