Size To Sell Bn Fry ?

hello i was wondering at what size could i start selling my BN fry at and how long it would take to get them to that size thanks

You will want them to be at least 3cm bigger if possible as otherwise they can still be a bit delicate. The speed at which they grow is really dependant on the available space and amount of food. Over feeding wont make them grow any quicker, you just have to ensure that all the fry are getting addiquite amounts of food. Water temp might also have something to do with their growth speed as I know many things slow down in cooler water. How ever I would not go adjusting the water temp in your tank as the fry are already used to the current settings and it is only a suspicion that I have. How are the bubs going now?

they are all ok i have had one death tht i found in my filter along with a live one i washed my sponed in a bucket of water i just took out of the tank and seen the dead one and poured all the water out and see one shaking i nearly had a heart attack but i saved him so it was all good there is about 30 odd of them what should i be feeding them ? thanks

They will eat exactly what the adults are eating, mine get flakes (that drift down to the bottom of the tank) sinking algea wafers, shinking shrimp pellets, and the usual vegies. Mine also have access to live plants and timber that they are always munching on. The babies that I had in a for a for sale tank along with some Pakistani loaches (the loaches weren't for sale they were just an attempt to knock out the snail population) got a real taste for squashed snails and it became a race between the BN's and the loaches to see who got to eat the snails I had squashed. Just as well I have a very healty snail population (

) because they all went mad for the meaty treat.

And accidently sucking up a baby I can fully understand, the first time my BN's bred I didn't know and we were emptying the tank to move it, we had got all the other fish out and only had a few cm's of water left just covering the gravel and I spied a small baby swimming across the bottom of the tank. A hour or so later and after countless double checks and close scrutiny of the tank I saved around 20 babies. I shudder

to think how many went down the hose after we had taken the net off the end because we thought we had all the fish out waiting safely in some other large containers.
Moral of the story we always put a net over the end of any siphon hose and watch extra closely for potential fry before risking taking the net off.

thanks the fry i had must of been in my filters cus i checked the bucket to see if anything was there before i washed my sponges in it but the water was filthy after all my sponges in it and i couldnt see the fry but there all happy i have a good bit of bogwood in the tank thats were most of them are aswell on top of the caves i have just fed algae tab pellets flakes and like this brine shrimp gel that my corys eat
