Hi,
Can anyone please let me know if I have this right. You can buy any size pressurised CO2 system as long as it has a minimum capacity that includes your tank. ie, you can buy a system that is capable of supplying CO2 to a 1000ltr tank and as long as the needle valve operates correctly, you will be able to reduce the flow of CO2 to enable it's use on a 100 ltr tank. I am asking this as I may want to fit a large CO2 system to my relatively small tank with the idea of using it on a larger tank when I upgrade.
Any help will be very welcome.

Shouldn't be a problem. All the kits for CO2 are roughly the same (And often interchangeable as there are industry standard fiting etc). A regulator is just a regulator at the end of the day and they all do the same job. They do have a max pressure rating (i.e. the max pressure of the cylinder) but I''ve yet to hear of a cylinder that wont be ok for most aquarium regs.

What kit you thinking of?

BTW as far as I know, CO2 kits dont have a rating like you describe, any pressuried kit can be used on any tank as you control the amount you add to the tank, so it does matter if its 500g cylinder or a 20lb cylinder the reg does all the work.
