I've had successful embraces with the male being larger then the female, but what happens if the female is the larger one? I have a pair that would be great together, but I am concerned over the size. They are the same length, but actual body size is quite different...Any ideas on what will happen?

-_- i ahve the same question, the fish im going to be spawning here in the next few weeks are ver different in size, the male ct is a normal size i guess but its mostly finage, the female is huge! even without that huge belly of eggs she is bigger than he is, i was wondering to if this could be a problem

Well, you know I'm not an expert on this topic or anything S, but I would imagine that if the body lengths are similar or the females a little shorter, the width shouldn't matter as much. He still should be able to wrap her. But who knows until you try, right?

Edit: Actually, upon further reflection, I think I have that the wrong way around. Since he wraps her sideways, it probably IS width and depth, not length that determine whether or not he can wrap her. Having said that, I would still probably give it a try. ;)
