im sure i saw a topic when i first joined the forum that had a conversion website. You know, like the dimensions so you can find out the gallons it holds. Am i wrong? if im right could someone point me in the right direction please?

You can always calculate the volume then do the conversion in google.

For example

12x12x12 inch = 1728 cubic inches

then in google

"1728 cubic inches to gallons"
 
also type in "## letres in gallons =" into google.


I.e. "400 letres in gallons =" google result: 108 or something like that.
 
Yeah, just multiply the three measurements (in cm) of your tank together, eg if your tank was 10cmx10cmx10cm (I'm guessing it's probably not!) this would give you a volume of 1000 cubic centimetres, and to convert this into litres divide the volume by 1000. In this case it would be 1 litre. Then if you type into google "x litres in gallons" it will give you how many gallons your tank holds. It will give it to you in US gallons which is what the "1 inch per gallon" "rule" applies to. If you want it in UK gallons however, just type "x litres in uk gallons". Where x, in this case, would be 1!
