I'm looking to buy a new tank in the near future, and I was getting really interested in the Juwel Rio 300. However the shop I am buying it from claims it holds 300 litres and this is where I get confussed. The tank dimensions are 121cm x 62cm x 51cm which when I enter into the PFK - Aquarium volume calculator comes back with 383 litres. I also checked dimensions and volume with other resellers but they show the same.

So is the tank volume 300 litres or 383 litres? Even the volume after adding gravel according to PFK is 345 so 300 seems a bit far off the mark.

Thanks in advance for any help.

383 liters of air
300 liters of water (as you don't fill the tank with water untill it is brimming on the top.)

you do not loose 83 litres at all juwel give you them as an estimate my rekord 96 holds 116L of water with gravel it holds 106 and this is to the max fill line. I did go and check this on my tank.

Thanks Mark7616 I really appreciate the feedback on this. Seems Juwel are assuming the worst with their estimates.
