My Lesser Sirens, Siren intermedia, I have two of these, one arrived with an injured leg, but is healing really well, as these are Amphibians its foot may even regenerate. Im currently keeping 6 White Cloud Mountain Minnow's with them, which are doing really well, the Sirens dont pay much attention to them at all, I was going to keep a couple of Blind Cave Fish in with them as well, but after reading that they can be aggressive I think I'll find another cooler water tolerant species to keep with them, the water is heated to 22c.

They are more commonly kept in their native US than here in the UK. From the information Ive found on them, and from reading peoples experiences keeping them on another forum, they seem easy enough to keep, theres information on them here http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Siren/S_intermedia.shtml

Oooh those things are cool :hyper: .

So are they any different from axolotls? Do they stay smaller? Wont they eat the WCMM's?

They are Salamanders like Axolotl's, but are from a different family to them, they can get nearly 70cm, so much longer than Axolotl's, their more slender though, and unlike Axolotl's they dont have backlegs. They havent ate the minnow's yet, there would be a chance of that happening though, the minnow's are very fast though, and have hiding places. The Sirens has even swam through the minnow's and hasnt tried attacking them.

Woah 70cm? That means I cant get them any time soon though... :shout: .
They are pretty darn cool though.

A few more, updated, pictures of my Sirens and their aquarium, the smaller of the two Siren's foot has healed completly, it even grew back its toes, they no longer show any aggression towards each other, not even at feeding time, it may have been because they were probably underweight when they arrived, and wouldve competed more for food.

I now keep Guppies with them as well as the Minnows (all 6 Minnows are still alive and doing well), which are completly ignored by the Sirens, the Guppies are even breeding in there, theres around 20-30 (possibly more?) babies in there at the moment, the numbers of the babies arent decreasing by much.
