Noticed these today on several of my cardinals, all in exactly the same place. These 2 are the only 2 where it has developed into a "raised" lump but a few others do have a white spot in the exact same place. There are no other symptoms and no other fish seem affected.
Tank size: 180l
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: < 5ppm
pH: 6.5
dGH: 2
dKH: 1
Temp range: 24-28C (heater currently turned off due to hot weather)
I did 75% planned water change today and readings were the same before and after. This was before the lights came on so I had not noticed anything by that time. Yesterday I did some gardening. I uprooted all of my vals as they were threatening to overwhelm all plant life in the tank, trimmed and separated the plants and put the best ones back in - so that may have caused some stress.
At first glance I thought it may be fungal, but what confused me is that it is in exactly the same place on all the affected fish. Around 6 of my 14 cardinals are affected.
Oh and I use RO water with added minerals - so no dechlorinator or water treatment. I also added my usual dosage of Seachem Flourish Complete today.
