Silver Sharks

Hi all,

I've noticed that recently the scales on my Bala sharks have dulled in places, it almost looks like they are missing. I'm starting to get a bit worried.........Does anyone know what this is/ what I can do about it??

I was thinking of adding some Melafix is that the right course of action??

Hi Barday,

Bala's are very skitish fish and are good jumpers. They harm themselves from time to time off oraments and sharp objects, Try not keep things in the tank that are sharp to reduce the damage.

Their scales will grow back, Mine always recover from their escape attempts once the damage isn't to bad,
