silver shark sexing and breeding

Hi Folks

Can anyone tell me how to identify male from female silver sharks ?

I want to try to breed them so any advice / help would be appreciated.

Females are larger and have a rounder shape to the males. I'm afraid you will almost certainly be wasting your time trying to breed silver/bala sharks, they have never been bred in captivity without the use of hormone injections and nothing is known about their natural spawning behaviour or the triggers needed to get them spawning.

Thanks for your reply - I now have a lot of time on my hands (retired staff nurse -due to ill health courtesy of the M.O.D.) - so want to try something different and will keep my brain active.
Never been one for trying to take the easy life though

Hey there. Every resource that I went to also said that they were hard to breed in captivity. Here's a little article that I found that said it was possible, with some breeding info... I don't know about it since the person stated that they didn't even keep the fish.
