I went to my lfs the other day and saw some beautiful catfish called "silver shark catfish" I have never seen them before and wondered if anyone knew how big they would grow..?

Most shark cats are brackish fish and will need increasing ammounts of salt added to the as they grow, often until the tank reaches full marine conditions.
There are several species which can grow to sizes ranging from 12 to 30 inches + in length and all are carnivors which will eat smaller fish. Shark cats are not really suited to the home aquarium and are best left to large public aquariums.

Silver shark Catfish Arius seemani (sp?) can grow to 14-18 inches and although commonly found in FW when young, they need to be housed in BW right up to full Marine conditions when mature.

edit:   ...you type faster than I do CFC

Yeah, thanks, went a hunting on the web and found out that they grow to 14", which is a little big at the moment I feel...you are right too about the increasing salt, this was mentioned on there too...maybe when I have a HUUUUGE tank I might think about putting one in there on it's own, but a little too much at the moment, been searching for other cats instead...

thanks for the reply..! :D
