I brought a few new silver mollies home, and within days I noticed babies swimming near the bottom. I know I have counted 6 at the same time, but there may be more. I am wondering how I should take care of them while they're young. The people at my pet store thought the older fish might eat them, but they haven't paid much attention so far. I use a penguin filter with an air pump, and I do a partial water change every day so the aquarium is in great shape, but I don't know if the fish should be separated from the others. Also, is it normal for silver mollies to be black right after birth? It doesn't make much sense but I thought their color might change with age. Thanks for any advice.

congrats on the fry!! yes if i were you i would move the fry into another tank just in case, but make sure everything is the same in that tank like the temp, the water etc.. or they will die, or go out and buy fry grass, so they can hide from other fish, and i think it is ok for them to be black it's just there colour! good luck and take care :D

I'm feeding mine on powered flake for vegetarian fish. They seem to like it.
