I have recently bought 3 quite large silver dollar fish. I have never kept this kind of fish before and I am beginning to wonder If I have done the right thing or not.
When ever I try and feed them and get very close to the tank they become somewhat stressed out and dart about at high speed even sometimes making contact with the sides of the tank.
Are they always this so unbalanced ?
Would they be better with a couple of more fish in with them?
Please can anyone tell me more information about these crazy fish!

they would definatly be better with more... they send out stress signal when scared and without other fish to school with they feel very insecure, what are the other inhabintants?

Yes silver dollars are totally mental!!! Mine have gotten much better but they still prefer to be on the opposite side of the tank from where I am (well except at dinner time) They have lots of hiding places now ... with tall plants and a rock formation. It helps them feel secure

what size is your tank?
