How aggressive are are silver dollars toward small fish? Tetras, danios, hatchet fish, etc? I have a 200 U.S. gallon tank. I would like to add 4 or so small silver dollars to the tank. Would they go after my small fish? or would they even care if they are well feed?

Silver dollars will eat anything that fits in their mouth.

I have a silver dollar and 2 guppies.

he didn't EAT the guppies, but he scared them into hiding, then they died.

A very poor mistake.

Silver dollars aren't really aggressive towards fish half their size or bigger, but Like I said they Will eat anything that fits into their mouth.

I have to disagree with the previous post

I have 8 of two different species that are now 6-7 in diametere so big fish

They have been in with smaller fish and they didn;t eat them but I have to saythat full grown silver dollars would look daft and asthe previous poster said scare the smaller fish into submission, they are really more suited to being tankmates for bigger fish

Also I thinnk 4 is too few to keep and 6 plus is more desirable, these fish look better in a shoal and act more confiedent in a shoal as they are one of the most nrvous fish I have ever encountered when in small quantities

I love mine beautiful interesting fish

Our silver dollars are in a tank with little red-eye tetras and ottos and never touch them.
The only thing that they do that is bad is that they are prone to having daft turns where they swim around the tank as fast as they can which can stress out other fish but ours seem to have gotten used to it
