i have a 33 g U.S. tank and i'm planning on adding silver dollars. My question is would they okay on this tank with some some dwarf cichlids, bloodfin tetra, angel, and cory's, and do i have to get a pair or one would do okay?

You probably won't really like what I say, but it's just my opinion
) . I don't really think you have room for any Silvers in your tank. They need quite a bit of space because they swim a lot and are very fast. They get about 8" at maturity and I think that is just too big for your tank, especially for 3 which is the LEAST amount of Silvers you should have in an aquarium home. If you only buy one it may very well die from stress or loneliness so please don't just buy one if you decide to get them anyway. Silvers are almost as tall as they are long so that contributes a lot to them needing more space then other fish that are so much stouter (shorter).
Maybe you could get another tank if you want Silver Dollars and just keep them by themselves. Cories are great with them and they get along great together. You could have a SD and Cory tank!!
I hope I didn't irritate you, but it would be for the best if you didn't put any Silvers in your tank. You would have just a little too much fish in there in my opinion.
Also, they don't really defend themselves against other fish and the cichlids may be too much for them. I have 3 Angels, but they have all grown up together and the angels just bother themselves and I've NEVER seen them pick on the Silvers. The tetra I don't know about, are they nippy?? Silvers get stressed VERY easily so if you have nippers I'd say no to that. They also get very stressed during water changes or tank redecorating or fast movement outside the tank. You should really think about it a little more......

Thanks silver that's some very good info, I'm pretty much new to this hobby and don't know much about some species i just saw the silver dollars and i thought that they are very nice and wanted one i didn't think they'd be that sensitive and hard to keep....
