I have 1 lone silver dollar, not sure wether to rehome him or get him some pals. How many minimum for him to be happy and would it be ok to shoal him with different types of Dollars.
Thanks Angel

They are basicly just jumbo sized tetras so treat them just the same, groups of 6 plus and prefferably their own species, though groups of mixed species do work.

boboboy funny you mention Metynnis Lippincottianus as i have just seen some in at wildwoods and this was the species i was thinking of mixing with my lone silver dollar as they looked so nice with the spots . but not sure if this is a good move or if my dollar needs some of his own breed
regards Angel

i think, from what i read, that they should be in a shoal of their own species. but two groups of three, of each, may well work. though that is a guess. Where is Wildwoods and do you know if the post fish? i think i may considder four of each for my tank. lol, always assuming nobody thinks it would cause problems.

Maidenhead Aquatics @ Peterborough have some in which is nearer to you, look on tropicalfishfinder.co.uk that is very good for sourcing unusual fish.
regards Angel
