Silver Dollars

I purchased 6 Dollars this week and currently have them in quaranteen. It seems whenever I wanted to buy them, all the Dollars in the store had frayed fins and this was no exception this week. I picked out the largest fish with the best looking fins but still there is some damage.

Keep in mind that these fish didn't come from a top notch fish store and I took what I could find pretty much. Do you think this fraying is from being in with the wrong fish or just improper handling? Do you think Melafix would repair these fins?

It's hard to know considering we don't know what fish they were kept with..

SD's are pretty hardy, and should be able to tolerate frayed fins.. Melafix will probably help, but keeping the water clean is the most important thing.

I have a SD that had its whole dorsal eaten off within a day, and it's still alive and well.
