Silt Problem

We have a 250 gallon marine set up and have problem with silt, has anyone got any ideas please?

Can you be a bit more specific: where is the silt accumulating and what does it look like? Unless you just added a bunch of sand without washing it, it's pretty uncommon to get any really fine-grained mineral deposits building up in tanks. If instead of silt you mean detritus, that will be from overfeeding or a lack of suitable detritivores in the tank.

Thanks for the reply.

We are new to this and when first had the tank were told to feed the fish 3 times a day and have cut this right back.

I think its silt and it is all over the live rock not in one spacific area.

What are detritivores?
