This may sound silly but i wonder if it works?

If you place live rock on top of ocean rock, will the algae and other organisms possibly spread on the rock below?

Please set my mind straight

Ocean rock if passed in a good flow with live rock will colonise with the bacteria from the Live Rock BUT IMO I would rather either use ONly Live Rock or if cost was a stickler then I would use Half Live Rock & Half Reef Bones (Fried Live Rock) it is slightly more expensive than Ocean rock, but is more porus & IMO a lot nicer and quicker to colonise
