A lot of pictures I see here on the forum of female bettas and even Males their bellies are quite big. I am assuming these are pictures taken after the fish have been fed. I'm starting to wonder if I am not feeding mine enough as mine never have full bellies like that.

They do get round bellies after eating their bloodworms and pellets but never like the pics I see on here. Should I be feeding mine more so they get the big bellies??

I've also noticed in pictures of young fry they have very huge bellies..why is that??

I feel silly asking these things but I really want to know :*)

young betta fry have big bellys is coz they eat microworms or baby brine shrimp and r fed more often than a older betta.
i give my bettas 1 giant bloodworm a day they are so big thats all they need

My fry are fed 3 times a day and usually have quite large tummies but they go down through the day. My adults don't usually have tummies that big unless I put too many bloodworms in on their weekly treat

My fish eat like pigs, that could be why they're so fat :*) This isn't necessarily a good thing though,it's not really a bad thing either :dunno:

My adults and juvies get bloodworms about 4 times a week, the other days it's dry or something else frozen. Little fry eat live worms all the livelong day,I pretty much keep them full 'round the clock, that's why they're so chunky.

Use your best judgement, I'm sure your fish are fine  I'm Polish so I have the constant desire to feed, feed, feed. I've heard some people say "A hungry fish is a healthy fish" and I can't argue with that either. Whatever works for you and your babies.

I rarely fast my juvies, but on the nights when I do they are absolutely crazy the next day so maybe a little hunger is a good thing.

You`re not alone wuv,I spoil-feed all my fish too much sometimes-...ok,maybe a little over sometimes :look:
