well i have a few questions.
i need to know where i can get cheap silk plants.
i cant find any where that sells silk. Petco sells plastic. an so does almart an so does the lfs. i would love a link of a site for CHEAP SILK PLANTS

*EDIT*
a link to a place thats in america. shipings a pain in the A as it is

I got mine at my lfs, it's a discount place where they get loads of wholesale pet supply stuff. It's the cheapest place around. I could go to another lfs and spend $50 there for the same things as I would buy at the discount place for $20. I have silk plants in with my JD. And they were only like $1.99 for the bigger ones and cheaper for the smaller ones.

ya we dont even have an LFS we jus have a pet place where thats run by one lady an she sells VT bettas an gold fish. thats it in the way of fish.

Walmart normally sells silk plants near me. You can get a pack of 3 or 4 plants for $6.99. I am sure it would be less in the states after taking the exchange rate into consideration. I have seen a number of people on this forum that have the same plants. I also get them from my lfs. I have found though, that live plants are better for the tank, and cheaper too. My lfs sells bunch plants like cabomba, water sprite, wisteria etc... for 2.99 a bunch. All of my 1G bowls are planted, and the fish love it.

Some people use silk plants from Michael's I think. I have never used them myself, so I can't comment on how they look or if they are safe in tank water.

lol i order them cuz the nearest store that sells SILK plants is 45min drive an i dont have a car. so ya kinda hard

Honestly, I'd say just go with live plants such as cabomba and anacharis. They're SO much cheaper and don't harbor algae and bacteria. Your Petco doesn't sell silks?? I find that hard to believe... hmm... You could also try your local dollar store. They've got really cheap ones that you'd just have to make sure you wash off really well.

ya i know i was freaked to when PC didnt sell silks. just plastics. i might not have enough lighting for the plants you said. but ill look it up thx for the help

Plants like ambulia, java fern and java moss are great for low light tanks. My 1G bowls don't have any lights except the sun and the overhead lighting in my office. They grow like mad. Infact my java moss is doing better in my small tanks than in my planted 55G that it came from. There are lots of places online that you can order plants from too.
