Hi,

Is there a limit to a tropical aquariums depth and is it possible to use non-marine silicon (acetoxy system), made by Den Braven Sealents.
Thanks
Max

The dimensions of an aquarium are in direct proportions to the thickness of the glass.

As the tank get bigger, the galss needs to get thicker.

I have no knowledge of that brand of silicone...sorry

There are silicones made specifically for aquarium use. I have heard others say they have used regular clear silicone without problems, but you must make sure it has no additives in it such as algacides or mildewcides.

I agree with CM, You can use 100% clear silicone from the hardware store as long as it is 100% free of everything but silicone. That is what I use and havent had any problems, just make sure you give it plenty of time to cure
