silica sand

Hi everyone,
I want to put some more sand into my fish tank. I ran out of the sand that I put in there a while ago and I want to cover up the gravel patches that are showing on the bottom(I put sand over the gravel but I ran out before it was completly covered). The new kind of sand I got is called leveling sand and it says Warning: contains crystalline silica. Do not breath in dust because it can cause cancer. I washed the sand very thourghouly in the back yard to the point where the water is crystal clear.

My question is; is it safe to put the sand in the fish tank or should I just go steal some more sand from the construction site which is the kind of sand that I already got in the tank. Also I was wondering if silica sand can be harmful to plants because I got an amazon sword in the tank.

wooh it can cause cancer u shoul probaly not use anything that can hurt u. cause if it can hurt u it can probaly hurt ur fish so just stick with what u no works.

Children's playpit sand is non-toxic and cheap.

I guess I'll just go d-bo some more sand from the construction yard.

when buying any type of snad for ur tank do u have to clean it?
