im not a facebook user and im not 100% sure of how it works
but if it can be posted on there and it will get more names on then by all means if someone wants to set it up then go for it. the more people that sign the better
Signed it a while ago. The scale of this isnt remotely covered by that article there are literally thousands of these dams being built all through the Amazon and its not the first time that they have tried to build these to harness the power of the water flow but they have all failed and have just been abandoned as a waste of money - I think there are about 80 or so sites I read about where this has happened so far but yeah its just game over to be honest here in my opinion.
There is too much to gain for the industries and economies of very poor countries and I think that is the attitude that the people in charge and those that have given authority for it to go ahead have thought about.
Just to say though I dont agree with the above comment but it is a very real attitude that is going to be taken. I just hope that some kind of media hub picks up on this to raise awareness but given the fact that NO major news network picked up the fact that the Amazon was drying up during flood season this year I suspect that it will go by unnoticed.....
It is a pretty horific thing though how ever you look at it.
