Hi does anyone know anything about Sicydium gobies? I came them in a video underwater in Costa Rica, which is where a lot of my favourite fish are from

And as you can see they are rather awesome! Seem to be a typical Goby that lives in freshwater but semi coastal with their eggs hatching in saltwater before a migration back up river. I've looked up the family and there seems to be a chunk of the species from Central American locations but then some from parts of Africa too. Not a ton of information on them but there do seem to be some in tanks on youtube.

So yeah any help or info would be much appreciated.

Wow, the colours on that blue one!! Love the fin shapes as well, both the jagged dorsal and the cute rounded pectorals. I wonder if the way they took turns circling each other like that is some courtship thing?

Did you wind up getting any of these?

I quickly skim read the title and thought it said ‘ psilocybin gobies’

Yeah that would be awesome

No its one for a future tank but fairly certain I wont find them. I found some niche goby groups on facebook and like 1-2 people have them and they have always been a bycatch in a store they found by luck. A lot of central american fish don't travel well so don't get imported that often.
