Sick Plec?

All the above unknown but my local aquarium centre said tests were normal.

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):
He doesn’t normally move very much but his swimming around near the surface cought my attention, he has 2 patches of what looks like a fungis on his 'nostrils' (see pic)

Volume and Frequency of water changes:
1/3 every 2 weeks

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:
None

Tank inhabitants:
1 Gourami and another very small plec

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):
Last week I added 2 angel fish, both died within 2 days.

Exposure to chemicals:

Note: Have just notice my heater wasn't working. I cant be sure how long its been broken for, but ive replaced it with another (although its for a smaller tank but will hopefully do the trick until I can replace it. It was definatley ok when I gutted out the tank 2 weeks ago.

Wow! I've never seen anything like this before ummmm..... Its almost like a piece of decomposing tissue thats died off. About these angels though... did you quarantine them and how EXACTLY did they die?

No, I never thought to quarantine them - my tank is pretty bare.
They lived for a couple of days then died overnight - no warning signs no marks. I got my water tested to see what was up but everything was 'normal'.
I've just checked on my plec and I don't think he's doing too great. He has the sore part pressed against the heater and the fluff has been removed and has left a hole. I can't think of what else to do for him, I don't know what to treat him for

It definitely sounds and looks like its bacterial, I'm thinking maybe he has hurt himself on something causing his skin to break and then with the new fish they may have introduced some bacteria that has directly affected your plec I'm not sure, I am still at this point guessing is it red at all and when he is breathing is he crimson red under his gills?

I just meant I gave it a clean before adding the angel fish, about half the water and a fresh filter on one of my 2 filters I have in there (I only clean one at a time).
I added a little tea tree oil and salt last night but he died this morning. I'm guessing it was slime disease brought about by the temperature changes. At least it was relatively quick. Thanks for the replies.
