sick platty

I have a platty that is pretty sick. ive had two die befor him that i think died of the same thing. She just sits on the bottom of the tank and has a red spot that formed on her side. ive been giving her some medication for the last few days that people at petsmart subscribed, but it doesnt seem to be working can any body help me?

First off could you give us your water parameters? ie: ammonia, nitrite, pH, nitrate readings would be very helpful, also a little more description of her red spot? Thanks, we'll try to help as much as we can once we hear a bit more.

The people at petsmart gave me some medication for Bacterial Hemorrhagic Septicemia, and i dont have the equipment to find that stuff.
