Hi Guys,

I am rather new to fish, and well i just fed my fish and one of my Neon Tetras, is now floating upside down, he is definately still alive as he occasionally trys to swim, but is there anything i can do to help him?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Craig.

What I have found with neon tetras is that they are variable in quality. Sometimes you get a good batch where most survive for a couple of years. Other times they are not so strong. They also don't seem to respond well to treatment. I have tried different things, but they always seem to end up passing away either overnight or the next day. Sorry to be pessimistic, but be prepared.

Thanks for the info Rich!

Just to let you know, i think he will be alright now, after looking into it further it seems like it may have gulped the air when eating, But he seems to have damage his tail fin when he was upside down and the little bit of tail fin dried out!

Throw some MelaFix in there if you have it.

I had this happen when i first started, i now put my food under the flow of the filter so it doesn't float at the surface, havn't had it happen since :good:
