Sick Guppy????

My Male guppy hasn't been right lately since my female guppy died. Is it because he needs a mating partner or is he just sick. He has other fish with him in the tank so he can't be lonely. He stays at the top of the tank alot but he still eats when I feed him. His gills seem kinda larger than usual and he is breathing a little faster than usual but none of the other fish are showing these signs. Any ideas??

He's probably lonely but it may be gill disease. But it sounds like he's lonely because my guppy, Ron, basicly lost the will to live when his mate Rose died, even though there was another female in the tank. I'd try adding another female or two though, even though I'm not promising anything
