Hi, I have noticed that around 5 of my guppy fry have all of a sudden developed pointed tails, 2 died today...

I have separated the remaining 3 with pointed tails, will tight die too or can I save them??

How are you keeping them? Are they in a plastic breeder box?

What are your water stats for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? (if you use a plastic breeder box you will want to test in there too).

They are in an old coke bottle that I washed thoroughlly, cut and put plenty of air holes in and then placed in the main tank...we have done water tests and they say the water is fine.

Is the water circulating properly through the holes? How about the tank temperature?

What are you feeding them?

In my experience fry problems are more commonly down to water quality and feeding and a bit more rarely down to illness on its own. Though, I have had some unlucky batches where they did clamp up and die.

I am feeding them crushed flake and yes the water is circulating properly, the temperature is also as recommended by my lfs

How long has your tank been running? When people say they are doing what their LFS said it often makes me cringe since LFS have a habit of giving bad advice.

It has been running for about 6 months now, and the temp is 27
