Some of you will probably remember me asking what to do about my betta. I've had him over a week and he's yet to eat. He's refused flakes, freeze dried blood worms, and (thawed) blood worms. His fins seem to deteriorate more and more each day, and I think he's developed black spots on his fins, as well. He's also become increasingly inactive, he lies on his side on the bottom of the tank all day, the exception being when he comes up for air. To be honest, I don't think it's going to be long until he dies. While I don't want him to go, I also don't want him to suffer. Should I let time run it's course, or intervene?

This is what he looked like when I brought him home:

You can kind of see the black spots on his fins in this one:

Have you treated him for anything? -_- He does look bad poor thing. Could be black spot which can be treated fairly easily with store bought medication. But if he's left untreated he will die. :(
Keep the water level quite low so he can reach the surface easily and make sure his water stays clean.
Hugs,
P.
