Hi all,

I bought a male betta from my lfs on friday and he looked very nice when i bought him,
When i got him home i floated him for 30 mins adding 1 cup of my aquarium water every 5 minutes,
When i put him in the tank his fins looked ripped so i put some fin rot treatment into the tank just to be safe,
Today i noticed that he wasnt breathing under water -_- (he went up for air now and again) i didnt think much to it and went out,
I have just got back home and looked in on him and he was still alive but laying on the bottom of the tank, not moving much.

Is this normal?
If not could someone tell me whats wrong with him please?

I can put a picture on if you need one.

Thanx
Chris

Edit: I dont think he is asleep because he didnt move much when i nudged him with the net.

He's died :byebye:

:rip: My little fishy friend :byebye:

Angel Lady could u tell me what u think was wrong with him for future referance please?

I am sorry about your fish.. I have a few ideas but with no picture I cant really tell. I think when you buy bettas the damage is already done. They are kept in small containers of water just barely enough water to keep them alive to start with. Some of the fish are really tuff, but not tuff enough to with stand all the stuff that they are put threw. I can assure you that you have done everything that you was suppose to do. I think they should have to be made do better when it comes to these little fellows. Those fish are the best fish I have ever kept before. When you walk in a room where they are the little fellows are very glad to see you. I look for that in a fish.. Try not to let this get you down because it happens all the time with bettas.
