This is the first time my male betta has ever been ill, but im not totally sure what he has got and i was wondering what would be the best med for treating him.
Basically his nose, not his mouth or lips, is rather swolllen on one side. The swollen area looks exactly the same skin color and texture as the rest of him but is just rather enlarged- so i do not think it is mouth rot otherwise it would be fluffy or he's be losing flesh etc.
Im not totally sure what it is to be honest, there are no sharp objects in his tank and the plants are either live or made out of silk- the tank is cycled and been mature for quite some months and has a filter with slow/gentle current and the tank gets 2 small water changes a week. He gets fed on a diet of freezedied river shrimp, frozen(and freezedried) krill and bloodworms.

Im thinking of treating him with "anti internal bacteria" by interpet or a mix of aquarium salt and melafix- which do you think would be best or are there any other meds you'd chose?

Hmm... I'd start with salt and melafix (diluted, i hink about 1 pat melafix, 4 parts water). Until you know whats wrong for sure, best to go for something a bit lighter.
