There are a few different species, so we might be talking about different types of dats here, but the true one is definitely D. pulcher.

Might be looking for some time and expect to get your wallet out if you do find one.

i know of 3 people selling d pulcher, all are over about 8" though and i wanted to start with a smaller one. i know they are hard to come by so considering getting a larger one. i know they aint cheap, but i believe a fish as nice as that deserves to demand a high price! it's not the price im bothered about anyway, and it will probably be the cheapest fish in the tank anyway!

You're not going to find one at a small size, since they have not been exported for a long time (hence the high price). Pulchers used to be just as cheap as microlepis, but the exportation ban has made their prices sky rocket and make all the ones available only larger specimens.

the few d.pulcher in the uk will be 14inch+ and £600+ a perfect fish can go over 1k easy
